Loading the game causes a "unable to connect to update server" error and crashes the game, prompts a file integrity scan, and repeats the error, crash, and scan after every attempt to load the game.

I haven't had any problems this morning... What does your 'Net Test' and 'Trace Route' network diagnostic results look like?

both utilities are described in this thread...

Looks like the Cogent Boston hub is having issues, again...

You should post these results in the network section of the PWE Tech Support site, so that PWE tech people know about this, and can kick Cogent a few more times with it to get it fixed...

Have yet to be able to connect to the patch server. Cogent hub activity has settled some. Continues to time out.
