Why can only -Male- Characters have gloves or hand options!? Why don't female characters have these options!? Why you discriminating the glove loving female population of Starfleet still!?

The high-tech gloves of the future are too confusing for women.
Cryptic's gotten into the seriously annoying habit of making costume items that ought to be unisex locked into being only male or female. It was kind of bad in City of Heroes but it got real bad with Champions Online. I would not be surprised to see that there will always be items like these gloves limited to one sex or the other in this game.
They seem to like doing this, for reasons that I still don't understand. Females don't currently have ANYTHING unique (aside from the obvious, I guess....)
This problem actually works both ways.
I've seen plenty of items that would be perfectly fine for males to wear be only available to females...
I've been down that road in CO. I started a thread asking why I couldn't dress my male character up as a chick. Oh, what fun we had. I think I ultimately got an infraction for trolling or some similarly outrageous lie, but I'm also pretty sure it was worth it.
My conclusion from that experiment was that Cryptic forum mods are reasonable, but can be pushed too far. That's usually my conclusion from these sorts of things though.
