First off, you are only probably able to do 2k dps with you current build. You need probably everything sorry. Here is what I would do: (This takes time to get there and/or cash)

Power Levels are critical for weapons. You need to get to the point that your power levels never go down. How you get there:

Plasmonic Leach. (Sell everything and buy this as soon as your can. FYI. They are only going up in price probably.)
Aux to Battery Skill: Provides a boost to power levels and reduces the time for BOFF skill if you have technicians.
Batteries

Weapons are the next and have different procs You want the same weapons type so that you can stack the tac consoles:

Antiprotons have a crit Proc and Disrupters have a proc to reduce damage resistance. Romulan plasma have plasma and disrupter procs. You will need a ship with more tac consoles like the avenger

DOFFs:

3x Technicians Purple (Either to the Btran Colony Missions or pay $10 mill each)
1x Marion Francise Dulmer (EIther pay 45 million or open the Temporal Lock Box with a key an hope that you get the temporal beacon 10% chance and then do the DOff Mission.)
1x Energy Weapons Officer (Another 10 Million EC)

If you don't have the cash attempt with lower quality but you will not get the best results:

Respect your Captain:
Try to get to at least 6 in most of the tactical categories except for stealth and threat.
Need 6 in Flow caps or the leach will not work right.

Boffs:
Superior Romulan Operatives are good but Fed can only get them from the Fleet Embassy.
Efficient Saurians are good as well.
Humans with Leadership.

The build that I would work toward is as follows:

Remember everything could change after season 8 and cannons and escorts can come back.

Woah, that's a lot to work on... Maybe a bit at a time...

I am noticing that none of you guys have torpedos... Why no torpedos? Why all beam arrays?

Beam arrays overlap firing arcs. Torpedos lack that capability

Okay... just so I understand... besides the obvious, what does that mean?

Also, "Technicians" were mentioned... are those DOffs? Are they searchable by "technician" or by some other title?

EDIT: Also forgot to mention that I'm not into the PvP, but I PvE a lot!

The technicians are DOFFs. Be careful there are some technicians that have the correct effect. You need the ones that reduce bridge officers abilities by 30% when aux to battery is kicked off. Beams are more valuable because you can turn sideways to enemies and have all 8 beams firing at once hitting an enemy. It used to be that beams drained weapons power significantly and that DHC were superior. However, with the advent of aux to battery and plasmonic leaches, this eliminated this limitation. The devs by doing this broke the traditional dps versus survivability tradeoff. Now beam boats have both survivability and high dps. I can do a ton more dps on my Avenger than my glass cannon kumari so why would I run a glass cannon for example? However, you are going to pay big bucks in ec/dilithium to get there.

sto.gamepedia doesn't tell me where to pick up a Plasmonic Leech... Which Missions/Replays will drop this item?

Thanks again!

Leech is a lockbox item, but unbound when opened so can be traded. Search on the exchange. They're quite pricey nowadays, but are useful for keeping subsystem power up.

Okay, so this is gonna be a 1-Step-At-A-Time kinda thing... I've updated my build, from what I could do during my lunch hour. I'm gonna be a bit of a pain and insist that my build maintain one each of my fwd and aft torpedoes. I swapped out and upgraded the two Tac consoles, and instead of an "attack pattern beta" I'm gong to keep my Torpedo High Yield...

Poor choice, ap:b and bfaw is where your dps is...High yield is nothing in comparison...Perhaps an escort would be more your thing? You get to attack head on and there a loads of tact boff slots

Based on your build, it appears you don't want to do aux2bat...i suppose my advice isn't what your looking for...good luck

I understand it's a poor choice. I've seen the math and it makes sense... However, I'm gonna make the call on that one

Specifically, any comments on my current choice for Core, Impulse, shields, and deflector?
