While grinding Nukara Rep I'm running To'Duj Fighters. I was wondering if getting Siphon Drones would help or should I just stick with To'Duj Fighters?

All the other stuff isn't available yet, except for Orion Slavers but I don't think they would be an improvement. What's your opinion?

Siphon drones were nerfed into oblivion, along with tachyon drones, a long while ago. Turning a couple of the more effective, versatile, and fun pets into flying trash. I'm still somewhat annoyed after having shelled out the $15 for the tachyon drones. I suggest pets that spam torpedoes against the Crystalline Entity, or anything else for that matter.

Slavers are fine pets... especially in fleet flavors but the issues is that everyone expects arseloads of stuff from them.

but where the slavers shine are their mines and torpedoes.... even as disruptor-wielding ships they drop quantum mines and photon torpedoes often enough that they can deal pretty significant damage to the entity(weak to kenetic).

If you are in the Vo'Quv, get the B'rel BoPs. They fire off THY1, dealing as much as 8,000 damage to the CE, and much more (40K+) against the shards (they have negative kinetic resist I think).

They are also tough enough to survive hits from the beam, and likely the normal level AOE blast (not the elite one though).

Thanks

I'll give the EC Slavers a spin. Currently one alt is running the free Marauder which will later become a Corsair. The other is running the free Obelisk carrier which will probably become KarFi.

I've heard the BOP pets don't use their battle cloaks effectively, are they better now?
I do have a older tactical alt with the VoQuv unlocked so I'll probably try the EC BOP.

Of course we are due a new ship early 2014 which is when I'll probably finish the rep grind on these alts. So everything could change!

Against the Crystalline Entity (and its Tholian escort), fighter pets just don't last very long due to all the assorted FAWs and navigational hazards going everywhere. On the other hand, you're up against a target with high energy resistance and no shields. That means you want pets that can take a beating and dish out non-targetable torps in return.

In other words, Mirror Vo'quv is your friend.

Frigate sized pets with dual cannons have a tendency to just circle the target, not using the dual cannons or torpedoes effectively, sometimes their worth it, sometimes they make you want to tear your hair out.

There is a way around that.... but it requires recalling and redeploying them quite often
