Thanks SO MUCH for all your support, and we'll see you in-game!
I played this role in OB and loved it and have decided to do it down the same role again. It hard work untill tier 3 but then you get T 4 and the defiant class and that was awesome.
So yes im playing an engineer escort
Exactly my thinking. You wont put out the same damage as a tactical captain, but you'll be close, and you'll be tough as hell to take down, as well as withstanding almost all alpha strikes.

I was planning something along those lines. I enjoyed tac/escort on OB, but i could be swayed by the additional toughness of an engy captain.
I'm a but stumped when it comes to workable builds though.
If this game turns into another Skill Tree jerkfest like in WoW ("I don't like your skill tree. Get this and do that or I won't invite you to my raid. Nyeeeegghhhhh!"), I'm gonna cancel my preorder now.
hey guys in new to this so any advice and suggestions would be truly appreciated. im looking to create a tactical/science vessel and would like to know anything i should watch out for, thnx in advanced.
Im looking to go all Tact Escort. I just want to deal the Most Damage the fastest I can. Im not sure what I missed but on the Builder I didnt have any Points at Admiral. Please take a look and see if Im not getting this.

You've never played a cryptic game before have you. Most of the skill tree's are different, but not by much. You could have a science/tactical, or tactical/science and you would still be very viable. They're not as stupid as blizzard, and only cater to one group of people.
The good thing about cryptic's games, is you can be unique as you want, and still be competitive. They offer more diversity without homogenization and overpowering one class, than almost any other MMO out there.

Tactical/Science is a valid build, but requires a bit more thought on playstyle. The science vessel is basically a "buffbot and support" class, where tactical mainly focus's on damage. These two can co-exist very well indeed, but it will take soem very careful planning of your Bridge Officer skills.
