Another way to fix it is to have the bigger cruisers be able to turn quickly while at full stop. Cruisers already turn faster when slowing down, it's only when they stop that they turn even slower than when at full speed.

If a Galaxy class could perform a 360 degree turn in 15-20 seconds only when stopped, this would fix everything. Forward firepower in a cruiser is roughly equal to firepower at all other angles anyway so it wouldn't be terribly overpowered.

As I stated in the original thread, if there have been no changes at all to the turn rate at tier 4 and higher, then it just isn't fun to play cruiser. Battles are long and drawn out while leveling through missions. In order just to get through we have to use every cool down we have, because we can't turn fast enough to spread damage across all our shield facings, and if we don't burn the cooldowns, we'll be respawning after an alpha strike melts our hull.

My biggest problem is, I don't understand why it gets worse as we go. While the ships may be getting bigger, they also should have larger warp cores, etc to be able to compensate for the difference. Frankly, I'd be happy if it stayed about the tier 2-3 rate.. at least then it would be tolerable, but what I experienced of tier 4 during beta just wasn't fun.

Did you fly a Galaxy? THAT's the question.

Wait until you use one yourself. It's like a sprinting obese man suddenly trying to change direction.

I'm not going to really press the issue right now. I'll let the cruiser pilots get to tier 4 and do the out-crying for me...

Yes, but should it also be alot less fun as you advance? Cruisers are the only ship that suffer a drop in enjoyment level because of the tier 4 turning rate.

A turn rate of 7 on the Galaxy still makes it a brick for turning, but alleviates the headaches of non combat flying in it. Combat, flying is rarely an issue- its everything else you have to do while flying.

Likewise, I think the VoQuv should be a turn rate of 6. No one should be straddled with the lack of fun a hideously low turn rate brings to flying (which also accounts for at least 3/4 of the gameplay).

Cruisers are fine. I fly one and have no issues. Yes it's like turing a tanker, but that's what Cruisers are. Giant Tankers....that take more than 1 torpedo to sink.

Leave Cruisers alone, and learn how to use the Strengths of the ship, the correct BO skills, and right weapon layouts, and then you'll be fine.

If you want to turn fast, fly any other ship.

We are not talking about t2 cruisers.

This is about high end cruisers, that means its about ships you have never flown.
