You know, I was curious... And I wish I had voiced this concern early on as it is probably too late now.
But having played the beta I started to miss something I've seen in every star trek feature whether it be films or video games.

Our familiar warped stars...
Before they go Live, I was curious if anyone else felt the same way; if perhaps you guys could just stick them in as an option at some point?

Here's an Example of How it Would Appear Ingame...

NOTE: I just noticed the effect was backwards... ALL FIXED! well... mostly fixed...

You know . . . Full Impulse isn't warp . . .

EDIT: Sorry, thought the screenshot was in an instanced mission.

Yeah, I think it would be cool at first, then just become really annoying.

Am I the only one that thinks this would be cool at first, and subsequently become REALLY, REALLY annoying?

it's a game based upon a fiction. It does not matter.

There seems to be 3 kinds of player here. The obsessed who really want to turn the game into some kind of holgraphic TV show.
The assimilated who want their games to be WOW in space
and the majority who really don't care and are having a blast playing a bit of hack and slash in space in a game that has some familiar context to it.

If you travel faster than light wouldn't you be unable to see stars at all?

*puts on science teacher hat*

You would actually because light from that star wuld be emmited in all directions and through all space. However the color of the star would be highly red or blue shifted (see: Doppler effect) depending if the star was in front of you (blue) or behind you (red).

Well, it wouldn't obviously be streaking if you're stopped... and it could be an option that you can enable.
At the same time you can also have the option to disable the grids perhaps?

Maybe not default, but perhaps we could have the option to turn these off and on?
