Yeah but if you think about it, a massive fleet carrier like that would have to be like and Eve Carrier and logistically next to impossible for even basic admirals to get. It would change the game play immensely. You're talking about a mobile space dock.

That said, in my latest foundry I have already built the frame work for a V'Ger ship under the same principles.

Okay, since you obviously completely missed the joke, I'm playing on the fact that the KDF get a carrier that can launch B'Rels and Qaw'duns. The Obelisk is *massive* compared to a Miranda, so why not?

...that and I just kinda want a ship that can launch Mirandas, I like the Miranda class.

Pet Miranda's would be great. Their special ability would be the cruiser command threat control. Blowing up was pretty much their specialty so I think it would be appropriate.
The Somraw, K'tinga, D'Kyr, D7, Kumari, Xindi carrier, Xindi escort, and the T'Varo are all older than the Constitution Refit and yet they are tier 5. The rule needs to change.

Since I don't play KDF or pay any attention to their carriers as a result, I obviously don't care

A ship that is fully self supporting doesn't need a carrier to be launched from. What is the point of that. That concept turns the carrier more in a transport/support ship. A ship that stays out of the combat zone. The question is, in a game situation, is that fun to fly.

The Romulans have this dual ship, the Haakona, a very big ship that carries and launches another big ship. You can ask, which ship carries the other.

I also do have a problem with the Obelisk. Not the design, I like it. Not to play it, it is a carrier as we have them in STO. It is the size and the number of the crew. What is the point of that?
It launches not small crafts, but drones, which do excellent as cannonfodder since they are unmanned. We may argue if a manned craft is much bigger than an unmanned one, a drone, that performs in the same way, But I think a drone carrier can be much smaller than it is now showed in the game.

To adress the issue of shipsize and scale. I ask, what are we a town on the move or a fighting unit? The town on the move is a very well idea for a space exploration tv show, but it doesn't make sense in a combat orientated space game.

This actually does make sense. It would be so awesome to launch a couple of those guns stuck to an engine.

The federation not having a frigate pet is a faction specific drawback intended during development - the KDF was always intended to have better carriers while the Federation has more (and better) science vessels.

If the federation would get frigate pets, they would have to be a Aquarius destroyers, nerfed down to the proper firepower. Even those are a bit too large (they have 50 crew while BoPs have 30 at most).

What I would like to see would be DPS oriented runabouts. Take the danubes, remove the tractor beam and add another beam array.

Example:

Amazon (River theme?) Runabouts

2 Phaser Beam Arrays
Photon Torpedoes
Torpedo Spread 1
Attack Pattern Omega 1

Advanced Amazon Runabouts

2 Phaser Beam Arrays
Quantum Torpedoes
Torpedo Spread 2
Attack Pattern Omega 2

Elite Amazon Runabouts

2 Phaser Beam Arrays
Quantum Torpedoes
Torpedo Spread 3
Attack Pattern Omega 3

They would have about the same HP as Danubes - more then fighters or shuttles but less then BoPs. Their beam and torpedo damage would be scaled to give them similar DPS to the damage oriented BoP and Fighter pets that currently exist, but more then current runabouts. The federation would not have the unique frigate pets (with their high survivability) but would still be able to keep up damage-wise using a pet tougher then a fighter.

I think the Miranda would work better as a point defense system. You push a button and release a swarm of them... they soak up incoming fire and die horribly.

Hey it's canon! We saw it on DS9!

Just "meh", and then some more "meh". No more new toys to Feds before KDF gets at least five.

Sorry no, can't the KDF have atleast ONE thing the Feds don't have? I mean this whole cookie cutter crap is really getting annoying.
