Read the article that Cryptic published on skills and how they work.
the numbers resresent percent to damage (not crit). Same for the skills you level up like star ship beam weapons. The skills stack as well with other skills and items so they appear to be good however I would not agree that they are the best.
I would rather have abilites that influence the power generated on your ship and efficency than a raw 3 or 6 percent.
The bonus applies directly to the skill it matches. ie if you tarin in that skill to 10 and the trait is 3.3 then the skill is now 13.3 (weather the .3 makes a difference only the computer rounding will ever know)
What an OP trait. Its good to know they are rigging the game based on what preorder outlet u went through. Especially since they didn't list what the joined trill special trait was.
new flash - its NOT a preorder bonus - its a "collectors" edition bonus - the DDE is a "modern" replacment for the old collectors box's where it gives more bonus's but all in digital forms - for example Dragon Age DDE came with all the addon modules.
this is also why it was more expensive than the regular version
I bet they are doing the mutual fund thing. You get a number of shares, but here they are shares in a powers and skills. The value likely goes up and down on the whims of the developeers.
I have +10 to geek lore, today 1-point of geek lore is 1%, so I have +10%.
Tomorrow, after a patch, the developers think this is too weak so they make each point of geek lore +1.1%, so I wiould have +11%.
They do this in mutual funds because it is easy math. All you need to do is change the value of a unit (in say of going though all the shares and re-adding them up . . . in STOís case they do not need to change each power on an individual level).
