# 1 Sell me on a Sience career!

Alright, scientists, sell me on a career in Science! What lures you to the blue uniform? Favorite kits? Super skills? Terrific technique? Don't look good in red or gold?

If YOU consider a science career to be the best, share with us why!

Scientists are the silent masters of the battlefield. We stand quietly behind the Tac's and Engi's, ready to step in and whip out a tricorder or science team at just the right moment to turn the tide of battle.

To be honest, there's too little information for me to sell anyone on anything about this game yet, heh.

I chose to be a Science Officer because of the eventual healing aspect it has for ground combat. That's what the officer description indicated anyway.

Always enjoyed being a healing role more than any other in online games. How that plays out for ship combat, beats me.

Well, the only science i know about in STO is my BOff - and his tacheon beam really rips through shields. So Phaser -> Tacheon -> HY Photon salvo really lays into your enemy.

I picked it up for the heals originally, then got wasted fast in pvp, almost seemed pointless, going with debuffs and shield ripping now, much better.

Yeah I learned long ago to go the debuff / shield removal route

Scientists form the backbone of Starfleet. From an in-universe point of view, Tactical and Engineering professions are only there to allow the scientists access to the reaches of the galaxy.

I'm looking for tank and controller aspects. Many games don't allow a combat-oriented controller and this one does so I am playing for that role.

Jam Sensors, Scramble Sensors and the ability to knock out subsystems

I'm not concerned with PvP until much later in my Starfleet career so that doesn't bother me.

May not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's where I am aiming...

I went science just because it seems 9/10 ppl have gone engineering. Science seems cool, but I am thinking of re rolling because I feel Im gimping my self.
