When attempting to launch the game I keep getting this message:
video hardware acceleration is disabled

Video hardware acceleration is currently disabled due to safe mode operation or a driver error.

Please ensure you have a working OpenGL Hardware Renderer and try again

I have a late 2009 iMac core i5, 14Gb Ram with ATI Radeon HD 4850 512 MB, OSX 10.9. As far as I can tell there is nothing I can do to enable opengl acceleration.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I've been trying to log in, after creating an account. However, each time I enter my username and password I get a "wrong password" message.

Is there a known way to deal with this?

Everytime I start STO using the Mac client in crashes shortly after gameplay starts. iMac i7 2011, OS10.8, 8GB RAM. AMD Radeon HD 6970M. I haven't managed to play one game (back to boot camping)

I play STO on 2 Macs (when I'm not using my home PC) and up to yesterday I've been using Parallels Desktop to run it under a Windows emulation. It was far from good, but steady and stable.

Now I run it "native" on a 2011 iMac, Intel i5 2.5 Ghz, 8 Gb of ram, Radeon HD 6750M and OSX 10.7 Lion, and it's rolling very very good!
I switched most of the eye candies to Low in order to obtain more FPS, but the game works just great and it really looks good for being on such a system.
I have a near identical system but with Mavericks and it crashes every game... maybe this is a Mavericks issue causing the crashes

Well that's interesting. Just turned of the Power Nap option and switched to Window an 1920-1080 (16:10) resolution and it seems to work fine. No crashes and smooth graphics on maximum.

I've been running the beta for awhile now, but yesterday was the first time I ran into any (serious) problems.

I had to hard reboot my MPB 3 times due to it just locking up. Twice it was on map changes in the Dyson Sphere and once I was in the middle of a battle, the graphics got REALLY intense and everything just stopped.

The client looks great and until yesterday I haven't had any issues. Looking forward to it getting out of Beta.

Okay, so I got the game set up this morning and everything was going well aside from frequent crashes. I didn't think much of it, as my mac has this issue with a few games, and it was able to boot back up fairly easily.

However, upon completing the "Desperate Measures" portion, it crashed while trying to get to the Earth Spacedock, and now, it get to the ESD loading screen before crashing and giving the following message:

This will then prompt a diagnostic window which just crashes before it can do anything. Then, I have to force quit the application.

Running on a 13-inch, mid-2013 Macbook Pro. .5 GHz Intel core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM, Intel HD 4000 512 MB Graphics card, OSX 10.8.5 (12F45) and 69.39 GB of storage.

The game runs fine other than this, and I've really enjoyed the experience.

EDIT: Running in safe mode seems to have solved the problem for now. Both the corrupted file and the crashing. Not sure what this says or how much safe mode will impact gameplay.

Crash on Nimbus

Played my Romulan for a while with no problems. Got to the Nimbus storyline and the game crashes ever 5-10 minutes. I have changed graphics settings from the top to the bottom so it is not my computer that is causing the crash and rather a bug in the game.

Hope this helps

I do not seem to be able to play sot on my mac even though everything is according to the minimum system requirements. It also says that "A file was locked that could not be open for writing." What should I do?
