Well, at the moment I am naming all my ships after Vocaloids (If you don't know what they are, look them up) so my Vice Admiral has the U.S.S. Rin Kagamine and my new character will have the U.S.S. Hatsune Miku and so on.

USS Excalibur - NCC-(9)1664-A

An Excelsior class, named for the NCC 1664, USS Excalibur who's crew were killed in wargames...

Also has led to some great images for my Second Life group.... where we RP in 2296, surely the best era?

my first few ship names we in memory of friends and loved ones that had passed away.

However, my current ship is the Protector, after the ship from Galaxy Quest and my shuttle is the Chenoweth, named after the actress, because they are both tiny, but feisty

The two latest editions to my fleet:
U.S.S. Rezel, Type-10 shuttle: Given it appears to be offspring of a Defiant, I named it after a mobile suit who considers the zeta gundam (from which I named my defiant class) a "parent" design.

U.S.S. Normandy, MVAE: With the rapidly approaching release of ME3, I named my MVAE after SSV Normandy (SR-2)

U.S.S Albion - the surname of my first toon to enter the metaverse in the form a Second Life character, she's kind of stuck with me for the past 7 or so years in various incarnations.

I.K.S Fus'Ro'Dah - very Klingon sounding and rather apt for a ship designed purely to spit hot death at anything which gets in it's way, oh and spending far to much time playing that awesome game.

Also looking forward to ME3. I just hope they can take the best bits from both games to make something truly epic

U.S.S. Legionary
NX - 720001
Gladius-class [Escort Refit]

So named because the Roman Legions typically used a short sword commonly referred to as the Gladius and a member of a Roman Legion is referred to as a Legionary.

I would name a Galaxy class the USS Praetor then!

'Hastati' for Yellowstone assault-config shuttles, Triarii for medium cruisers and Principe for those in my group who fly escorts.

And when I get the Odyssey +1, it's going to be Caesar, pronounced with the proper "K" :3

USS Bright Venture
(forget ship class - edit) Odyssey Class
name of the wraith city-ship in the stargate atlantis book "The Lost," without the USS part.
