I named most of my ships after characters in the cartoon Avatar - The Legend of Ang (the last airbender to U.S people)

Assault Cruiser - USS Azula
Fleet Escort - USS Toph
Advanced Escort - USS Katara
Long Range Science Vessel - USS Sokka

I have an akira class ship that i called the USS Tetsuo..... for ironic reasons I also have a science vessel called the USS Equinox (its a copy of the Equinox ship from voyager)

Onyx Hammer - Have always like Onyx gems. The Onyxhammer comes from my dwarven character on DDO

Onyx Pikachu - Don't ask. Not sure what I was doing that day.

I named my latest (Science) ship after the scientist Dr. Edward Pretorius from the Jeffrey Combs horror movie From Beyond. I took my ship's motto from that movie too, although I was very tempted to go with Jeffrey Combs' line "He was a GENIUS!"

I believe there was a mad scientist called Septimus Pretorius in The Bride of Frankenstein classic horror movie as well, so I named my runabout the Septimus.

there is some Boer leader named Pretorius, and a Roman named Septimus from actual history so it works that way too.

My current ship is named the "Schadenfreude"

This is a German loan word meaning: pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others

Since Klingons have an aggressive warrior culture that enjoys fighting and conquering their opponents I thought it an appropriate name

When I first started playing STO and making tons of mistakes I named my starter ship "SNAFU" - if you don't know what that stands for look it up online heheh

My Prometheus is named the USS Perseus... think there's no need for explaination there, but it was just in keeping with great Greek mythological figures that the class is named after, and Perseus just happens to be one of my favorites.

I had the USS Nassau at one point. Not cuz I like the place in particular, but I sure do like the Sloop John B.
My father served on the Lex, and when she was decommissioned my hometown won the bid to permanently park her on the bayfront as a museum and convention center. Helps being a major navy city, and the last homeport of the ship while she was still in service. Lots of naval aviators from the Nam era on got certified on carrier landings just offshore on the Lex.

Since 90% of the game is involved around shoot and kill anything that moves....

...I figured a sassy captain needed her ships names to match her war-time temper.

USS Harlot - fear a woman scorned.

USS Aphrodite - Sounds inviting doesn't it? Get em close then open fire.

the u.s.s. ragnarok is because i like norse mythology. and the u.s.s. apocolyse ties in with the end of the world the ragnarok started

i'm planning on making my carrier the I.K.S H.S. Panda or I.K.S HomSikPanda (bet you can't guess why XP)
