Loading screens for me since I recently updated to a quad core take around 5 - 10 seconds.

what your getting is normal for this stage of the game..try to get past it and it will get better.
I have played alot of games, and I have played alot of betas. 5-8 Min loading screens are not "normal". Especially when they were only 10-30 seconds a few hours ago.

I had a "server not responding" and now I'm looking at the "retrieving list of character" screen for 5 minutes.

Perhaps the server is going down... again.

its always been about a second to load something up, but now its taking like two minitues for me too.

and im stuck at retrieving characters

I think they may have a Tribble problem at Cryptic, because this is the SECOND time this has happened today.

What are you talking about?

Most games don't even have loading screens, but if they do I expect them to pass quickly, considering you have to change zones half a dozen times per mission, at least.
