I've been trying for weeks to get Sci-Fi/Star Trek & gamer friends to preorder and sign up. I've managed only 2! How many have you managed ? Just curious.
How did you "sell" it? I'm looking for good ideas. Thanks!
Just let my friend play beta and make a toon on mine. Next thing I know he rushed out to Del Taco, got his own code, and was playing it on his own machine. Now hes talking about getting STO over renewing his WoW sub.
I've probably had a couple people get the game because I told them about it, I wrote about my experiences with the game for my old guild mates. I also told a few people I've been playing Left 4 Dead 2 with about it, since it's also co-op centric, five man teams in STO is the best way to enjoy the content. Personally I just tell people about the game, I'm not really selling anyone on anything. Not everyone who tried it on my recommendation is likely to get the same sort of enjoyment out of it I do, but some have.
One of the concerns I heard was "most the the PC ST games have been disappointing".
I'm just trying to put together reliable team members to play co-op... The irony is that I know that they'd enjoy it once they put in some time playing it... provided that the servers could somehow stay up for a consistant amount of time.
