Hi all,

Just some questions i have that I've never found an answer for elsewhere (sorry if I've missed it, can't spend all my life on the forums, i have work, family, etc commitments. heh)

1. Accuracy

This is a Ship starter skill/ability which gives +0.1 accuracy to weapons, it's also an ability you can find on weapons themselves..

What is it's point? From the little I was able to play in the Open Beta.. I never seemed to actually miss hitting the enemy, it was just a matter of how much damage was done.. Or was I missing (lol pun not intended) the fact that I was missing but the graphics/animation showed me hitting anyways?

Just wondering, is it worth taking the starter attribute and/or weapons with +0.1 accuracy.. over other abilities or weapons? Does accuracy have any actual effect in the game?

2. Player "Borg" special - the hp & shield regen ability...

How much does the +0.1 hp regen actually do in regards to regeneration?
How fast would it be? Noticable difference?

Shield regen -you only regen shields when out of combat, or not being targeted right?
So how useful/effective would +10% shield regen bonus be ?

3. Character Creation

The only way to create non "spec" races would be to play as an "alien" right?
So if I say wanted to play a 5 foot human.. I'd have to play as an "Alien".. (as iirc the Human size scaler doesn't go that low... which is stupid imo as i know a fair few ppl who are 5 foot - 5 foot 2...)

And this means If I wanted to play as a Recovered Borg Human,. I'd have to stay in the size ranges they nominated.. no other way to have the Borg head-gear right?

4. Specials that came with different pre-order's / companies

Does anyone know if we'll get these on existing characters once retail key is applied to our accounts? Or will they require a whole new character to get?

IE the 500 skill point bonus.. will this get applied to all characters on account, or just new ones?

Same applies to items such as the Defense unit, the emotes, the uniform selection, etc ?

4a. skill point bonus

Considering the cap on skill points.. does the cap include the 500 bonus points? or will the 500 bonus points just get you to the cap faster?

5. Efficiency

Just what does +5 Engine / Shield / Energy / Aux Efficiency actually do?

.. just some of the questions which make my head go all blank. I wasn't able to play enough Open Beta to really work out what they do (not that i've ever been that great on working out game mechanics or such. lolz).

1) Yes, you do miss. It happens more as you get higher in levels, particularly against enemies that are fast (like fighters) or that just popped evasive maneuvers.

Accuracy is +10% to your base accuracy, so that's actually a bigger boost then it looks; and if you're playing something speedy, the 'evasion' stat could be pretty useful.

2) +10% hp regen, so if you normally regen at, say, 50% of your health per second, you'd instead regen 55%. It's not a huge bonus, but the more hitpoints you have the more it helps.

3) Yes

4) Presumably, we'll get them with all characters since they're tied to the account, not to any specific character.

4a) It'll get you to the cap faster

5) Boosts skills and bridge officer powers that rely on those abilities. The +10 'power type' skills are pretty passive.

As the rest were covered sufficiently, I wanted to add a little more here.

They give bonuses to those four skills specifically which open up at Lt Cmdr. The Efficiency line of skills function similar to the "Warp Core Training" and Warp Core Theorist. Yes, it does increase the related skills that Engineering Bridge Officers give out, however, it also has the effect of increasing your EPS levels.

Just as an example, those that took Warp Core Theorist get +10 to their Warp Core Training skill, with that skill max'd out they get +18 so they have +28 to it. The effect in game is that EPS that are set to 50 become 53, and those set to 25 become 32. That is, a bonus of +3 Power to anything at 50, and a bonus of +7 Power to anything set at 25.

Efficiency will increase those bonuses further. The +5 to all four Efficiencies does not seem to be enough to make a difference relative to the +28 one can get with Warp Core Theorist and level 9 Warp Core Training. (I skipped Efficient, and a friend took Efficient. We both have the same level of Warp Core Training, and the Warp Core Theorist skill and our EPS values are the same). With that said, it may have more of an effect once you start training the Efficiency line of skills than someone that lacks the Efficient trait. I unfortunately have not seen any hard numbers like I have with the Warp Core skill. Just for reference, I forget the exact value but I think without Warp Core Theorist the power levels are +2 at 50 and +5 at 25 with level 9 Warp Core Training. There's another post around that is much more detailed on it's effects.

Oh, forgot to mention one thing. The Efficiency line only kicks in for Power Settings under 60. Performance line of these are for Power Settings above 60. I read that a maxed out Weapons Performance skill will generate +10 extra Power. Which means setting Weapons to 100 makes it 110 before any gear is applied, give them an escort and they're at 120 and then they just need a +5 Weapons Power Console to hit the 'cap' of 125 Power Rating.
