Gravimetric photon torpedo, Omega, Transphasic (regular and cluster) and harpeng.

Quantum and chroniton can work, but the voth have strong shields so its best to go for bleed through and DoT effects.

Transphasics or Harpeng may be best. I use Omega, and most of the time they just get blipped without ever getting near the voth with grav wells and rifts everywhere.

If you want to use the Omega or Rom Rep Torpedo it's best not to use high yield. Same reason why i didn't include regular plasma torpedoes .

This isn't meant to be snarky, but you'd be much better off not using a torpedo at all. Energy weapons are plain superior, sadly.

Transphasic are always useful no matter wat enemy are you fighting. But i agree against Voth, energy weapons are more effective , high cadency rate of fire is needed in the dyson sphere, a ship loaded with cannons will do the trick as well (of course not only cannons..).

Actually, I've been having great success with dual photons. Their ability to penetrate Voth barriers combined with their short cooldown means you can apply constant pressure at all times - regardless of their defensive trickery.

Sorry, meant Rom rep torpedoes, the point still stands. Omega without high yield are probably alright. Go for transphasics, the rapid fire ones from Breen FE I used for ages.

They all work just fine, IF you time your HY torp launches to land into a down shield facing. Transphasics make more sense in PvP than PvE since no one is flying around at mach 10 making firing into a downed facing nearly impossible. If you can't land torpedos into a down shield facing just use trannys and be lazy However, if you can DON'T use trannys since its a waste of torp dmge. (10 sec CD with 40% bleedthrouh on a relatively weak torpedo is wasted if you could land the better, stronger torp with shorter CD on bare hull)

HY plasma, tricobalt and grav photons, tend to travel slowly and getting in close gives splash back (not sure there is any on the grav photons). Quantums are always the best torp for pure damage. I really wish Cryptic would buff torps to make them more intriguing. Like give us a reason to use something other than quantums. I only use them for immersion purposes, honestly.

Also, I'm not struggling to down a shield facing on voth ships outside of the citadel ships and the immunity shield being up. But with the immunity shield thing nothing is going to hurt them.

Energy Weapons aren't superior, they are just the current preferred meta playstyle. The Gravimetric Torpedo can be very powerful, it increases on power based on Graviton and Particle Generator speccs in addition to the standard tactical buffing method, making it a very good science vessel weapon. The Romulan Hyper Plasma Torpedo is capable of putting out at least 8,000 Damage/Second unbuffed. Nukara Web mine damage scales on Auxiliary power levels, bypasses shields, and disables the target for the duration. Plasma Torpedoes, Hargh'Pengs, Omega Torpedoes, Transphasic Torpedoes, and Cluster Torpedoes are capable of taking a target out though shields. The only bad torpedoes right now are Chroniton, Temporal Disruption, and Tricobalt (Cooldown problems and proc uselessness mainly). Quantum and Photon have their respective places on escorts and science vessels.
