Hello,

I have updated all of my drivers and I am not having problems with any other games. I have also checked my heat on my vid card and that is not an issue either. I can run eq2 which is a graphics hog at near top with no lag, im not sure why Im having problems with this game. I can also play CoH at full graphics with no lag or problems.... Can someone please help me figure this out??

Definitely upgrade your audio and video drivers to the latest version(s).

Have a look at this thread: http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=59685

In addition to upgrading my sound driver and my video drive (and turning off dynamic lighting), I took care of the last of the crashes by...wait for it...turning off the music.

Suddenly it's a whole new game.

I am having the same issue. If I can stay on long enough, I will also try the no sound thing.

Go to the game menu (it's the icon that looks like a console), select Options, then the Audio tab, and reduce the music volume to zero.

Found out today that turning off the music only extends the time before the inevitable stall and lock-up for me. I was in a shared instance team taking out Orion drydocks and the sound phasing at the second dock. I stayed as long as I could, then bailed before the BSOD.

Thought I had it covered.

I really don't want to have to buy a new sound card for this.
