It's a good sign to me, it means there will be a very healthy population even after the inevitable die off post-release.

Queues are a part of every major MMO release to date.

There was never any doubt that STO was going to be popular. Everyone expected there to be a big population supporting a game based off of something as popular as Star Trek. The immediate question is how many people will leave STO because of their experiences with the Head Start, and how many more people will leave if Cryptic doesn't clean this mess up in a timely manner.

Some will leave, yes, as I said... post-release die off is natural. I've played many MMO's and this has been a part of every one of them at some point or another (usually release and major expansions). I'm not saying I'd like it to be an everyday thing, but I'm also not going to go into a spastic rage because of it.
