After over 6+ hours of download, 4+ hours of unzipping and 2+ hours of installing I thought I was ready to play STO for the first time. I clicked the launcher and I get this error code:

Now I tried to find the file it said it talked about in the error code and my computer doesn't even have the original folder pathway "C:/src..." So I don't know if I'm some how missing a file that it's looking for or because I installed STO on my F drive (cause it's bigger) that some how messed it up (which it shouldn't). I looked on my F drive and no such file either. Don't know what to do at this point. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I see two things, and they're related.

first item, your video card is too old to play this game, minimum spec states a Nvidia 7950 chipset.

second item, you're using old drivers for said card.

this is also an AGP card, you may have trouble finding anything that will be both an AGP slot & at least a 7950 chipset. google time.

(it's really time for a new computer though.)

This. You NEED a brand new computer. You can try to upgrade what you have, but you need a new psu, gpu, mobo, processor, ram. It'd probably cost you 300$ just to upgrade that. Youa re on a 1.3ghz single core processor and only 512 mb sdram..

Just bin the entire machine and go buy a low end core2duo with an 8800gt for around 400-500.

The machine you have now, will never be able to run STO, let alone any of the latest games..

Thanks for the help.
Your CPU might be too old, but your GPU is too old regardless.

Hey now no need for harsh words, what are you... 10 years old.

A simple "Your computer is old, it needs this and that or a new computer"

This is why minimum system requirements lists exist.

There's no reason to insult someone because they don't have a newer computer.

@OP you can check Newegg.com and you can find all the things (new PC components) you need. It's really not difficult to put one together. If you know someone that is good with PC's then I would ask them for some help. It all depends on what you can afford.

If you have to, I would cancel a pre-order if you have to wait a while to upgrade. Sorry for the difficilty. We've all been there, having something that needs to be replaced. I give my kids my older PC's every 2 years and get myself all the latest and greatest. But they don;t know the difference. My father's PC is 11 years old, he just surfs the net with it.

Good Luck!
