Cant decide. Cruiser tactical could be fun, there both a mix of dps and survivability as far as i can tell...what do ppl think?
Do you want fragile maneuverability and monster DPS with restricted firing arcs (escort w/ cannons), or sluggish-but-tough with all-around firepower (cruiser)?
The ship dictates the playstyle. The captain just adds seasoning.
Engineer on escort can rotate shields to make the escort tougher...
Tactical on cruiser means u do more damage witht he debuffs
What you just listed is the seasoning. And rotate shields, while nice, won't make you even approach a cruiser's durability, with its multitude of engineering consoles and ranking engineer crew throwing gobs of repairs at a cruiser.
The ship dominates your playstyle. The captain career skills (all 4 of them!) just tweak that playstyle a bit.
Interesting. As far as PVP ship wise with tact, cruiser good choice?
Current federation pvp strategy is to get a lot of cruisers, park them next to each other, and mash space bar. So yes, cruiser is a good choice.
Dont think tactical or engineer would really matter. Though i will point out that star cruisers only have one tactical boff station, so a tactical captain would be a decent thing to go if you want one of those.
