I may be wrong about the Trill and the Joined Trill being able to be made separately after the DDE retail key is applied.

I believe I had read it somewhere but I am unable to post a link so it is now mere speculation on my part.

I had the same reaction with Champions Online headstart and preorder items then I learned how they do things.

I see their logic behind making the items connected to the retail keys it protects the Merchants and I am sure the Merchants had a hand in it being done this way so I wonder if other people do not start doing preorder items the same way.

I am not saying the joined Trill is a preorder item; I know it is connected to the DDE of the game. I am just speaking in general since a lot assumed the Joined Trill is a preorder item.

"A lot of work"? Are you serious? I made it to Lt. Commander yesterday, only playing sporadically due to downtime and personal obligations. If I had been more dedicated to my playing time, I would probably already be a Captain before headstart.

And that's only doing quests...and doing them solo, for that matter. If you only want to do things when grouped, then yes, it's going to take a while...but if you want to hit your next tier of ship with some efficiency, just solo your way through the missions. Doesn't take long, and between the regular missions and doing the exploration cluster missions as they become available, levelling to Lt. Commander is bizarrely easy now.

Not a whole lot of work if all you're worried about is hitting level 11.

Besides, look at it this way...you can make a throwaway character for right now, get a bunch of useful (non-bound) mk II stuff, and instead of selling it just mail it to your new, "main" Joined Trill character after the 2nd. That'll make things even easier...you'll be giving yourself a boost, PLUS having more things that you can then sell to get more energy credits early on. Heck, that's what I'm doing, just because I want my main to have my Constitution-class ship when going through the Lt. levels. *shrugs*

So it's not like it's the end of the world.

Like you said....guess we find out tommorow. What will be odd IF they take regular Trill out of the game is we will be an endagered species... I think that may be better than any stats boost I would get by redoing my character. That and my totally HAWT Trill female science officer WOOT! Repopulate time (cue the "adult" movie theme music) Bow chikca BOW WOW

Thats pretty much what I did...throw away character.

And as far as a lot of work ...let me restate that. In the limited time I have to play (and why is it ALWAYS when I have a spare hour or two that the servers seem to S*!t) my fleet mates will already be well ahead of me.

Guess I could ...cough cough...take a couple sick days off work and catch back up! LOL

Regular trills will be in the game still and not endangered. If people, who order DDE can only make joined Trills, regular Trills we be able to be made by those who didn't buy the DDE of the game.

Ahh. Okay. And sorry about the rather ascerbic nature of my post...it didn't sound quite as grumpy in my head as it looks on-screen. I gotta start proofreading a bit better. x_x

At the moment, I'm off work due to some medical problems...I can only use the computer for a couple of hours at a time at the most, but at least if the servers are down I don't have to worry about missing more playing time due to work. Heh.

Of course, I'm also not getting a paycheck since I'm off work, but that's beside the point. XD

And I just realized...even though the launch date is tomorrow, I probably won't have my main set up until a day or two after that anyway, because I'll have to wait for my copy of the game with its retail key in it to arrive via the post. Dangit. :\

The 'Joined Trill' is simply another 'race' option. Just like 'Liberated Borg Human', (which if you have access to it, is simply another choice to make during character creation), which is in addition to the 'Normal' human selection.
