I can understand when the shields go offline that they wouldn't regenerate or, be repaired. But what about the hull? I mean what is keeping you from patching holes internally, reinforcing structural areas and, placing force fields if that is essentially what boff heals do? And what about the Scimitar? It has the ability to keeps shields active even while cloaked, if they are active why can't you repair them? Not sure if it was fixed but, it seemed awfully odd how I can use RSP while cloaked but, can't actually repair my hull or shields directly.

Balance.

If a ship could heal itself while cloaked, then all one has to do to survive just about any situation is cloak, heal to full, decloak and fight, rinse and repeat.

It's an instance where gameplay trumps realism.

Isn't it enough that you can activate things like torp spread, bfaw, attack patterns, and such while cloaked without giving away your position? The inability to heal while cloaked isn't a bug, its intentional. Its there to keep cloaking players from being literally invincible.

Honestly? With all the buffs that NPCs have been given OVER and OVER again, it is almost impossible to fight them in a BoP anymore. I think KDF BoP with a battlecloak should be allowed to heal while cloaked. At least hull heals. Too many times you are hunted down like a dog WHILE cloaked. Fired on WHILE cloaked. Too many times you'll have your cloaking process INTERRUPTED and then you're on cooldown while still being slammed from all sides. Too many times you'll cloak and evasive away from a massively OP enemy only to have super-plasma eat away your entire hull (what little there is on a BoP) before you can safely get somewhere you can pause to heal yourself. A single plasma torp that does little impact damage will deal SO much plasma burn that you'll get 3 or 4 ticks PER SECOND doing 800-900 plasma burn damage. That's up to 4K PER SECOND on a ship that has only 24k hull. ET, A2SIF, all sorts of heals won't stop it. The ONLY thing that can stop plasma is HE, and it has a 30 second cooldown. If you recently did it you will notice it pops up again quite regularly. Even if you have to wait 15 seconds for HE to cooldown, let's say, you need 60,000 hull points while plasma eats away at you. You're dead 3 times over.

Power creep has killed off BoPs in this game. They're just too weak. They can't stand up to the massive spike damage NPCs do regularly.

I believe the gradual heals from HE and the Borg 2-pc continue if they kick off before you cloak.

Simple.

1.) Game Balance.

2.) If that were the case, the incentive to remain cloaked and simply be an invisible healer would be obvious, in addition to being able to still fire off offensive abilities.

Perhaps, but I don't see how this would help it.

On a ship like the Scimitar it would be too much. Its presumed to be one of the most offensive ships in the game at the moment.

I can only imagine what would happen if it on top of already having battle cloak and all the benefits that offers + the ships inherent abilities, now it could heal with impunity from any effect and decloak fully restored.

Now imagine two or three of them on a team. It will make TIF look like child's-play in comparison.

You all forget a cloaked ship besides the Scimitar cloaked barrage with lengthy cd and no battle cloak ambush bonus cannot fire, giving the same amount of time for it's target to do the same so, no change in balance that isn't already there. So again how would this make them invincible? remember there is a cd for re-cloaking adding to the time frame for target to heal before uncloaking.

Can't the B'rel with its enhanced battle cloak be a tangfastic cloaked healer or sci mess you upper?
