Yeah, same here. Although you can make about a quarter of that back by selling the gear it comes equipped with...

I think the biggest issues with the Saber now that I've looked at it myself, are that the bridge is rather large, and inexplicably neon blue, and that the default windows are wrong and have no option to be changed (The Sabre used textures directly taken from the Enterprise D CGI model made for Star Trek Generations).

Also, the Romulan warbirds, then need to be at least doubled in size. Those things are meant to be Twice the size of a sovereign, not just slightly larger than a constitution.

I realize this is done on pourpose because the size of the ships whould affect the fighting when flying around them, but I'd really like propperly scaled ships too.

Having to fly all the way around a very big ship would be much cooler.

The Romulan Warbirds aren't twice the size of the Sovreign...they are bigger but it's not twice or more the size

Warbird: 1041.65m length
Sovreign: 680m length

A Miranda being the same size as a constitution is not right, not right at all.
I agree completely.

THey are twice the size in volume. Even the galaxy is 1.5times larger than the Sovereign.

The Galaxy class (which I think is one of the prettier ships in Star Trek) also has several texture and model issues. The curvature at the edge of the saucer section, for instance, is squared off rather than rounded, making it look rather clunky instead of graceful. The Constitution Refit has several textural errors and one or two model errors as well (like the fin things on the ends of the Nacelles). Perhaps, some day, they will do a beauty pass on the ships to clean them up a bit. I'll have to do a nit-picker's guide to how these ships appearances differ from their origins.

At any rate, working on the top down size comparison between the Constitution Refit and the Miranda right now. Will post it soon.

Actually, the Galaxy IS larger then the Sovereign. This is supported by lore (Star Trek The Next Generation Technical Manual states that Starfleet is moving towards smaller, mission specialized craft) and backed up in the game (Sovereign has a better turn rate than the Galaxy).

Bigger does not always mean better. The Sovereign is a bit longer, but has less height and much less width. So less mass, and therefore a more efficient, compact, and overall smaller design.

  • Sabers are MUCH bigger than they should be.
  • Constitution class ships are smaller than they should be (even small than my Miranda... which is just mind boggling considering how you advertise Cruisers as being "the big ships" of the fleet.

I think of all things in this game, this is one that i would like changed

I don't know about you guys but I don't like the idea of escort ships being too small to see.

Why not complain about the size of the planets too?
you can bump right into luna and realize your ship is way off scale.
