i just dont run away to save my skin. I better die then run from Klingon. No matter the cost

IF in STO was NO points for lose then i use some@ arena @ strat like in WoW..but

I still feel it is way too easy to run away in this game. Klingon ships do so much DPS in such a short amount of time, this tactic make it very easy for you guys to stay alive. It wouldn't matter so much if cloak took a BOff slot, but it doesn't. Surrying away and cloaking so you can find a hole to hide in while you repair is quite annoying.

the defense for it is that they can't survive a moderate amount of time under fire. most glass cannons employ this in some way shape or form. (I think its lame as hell though personally, they shouldn't need to or be able to)

As someone who hunted the hunters...

Play a Sci Captain..
Train lots of points into Sensors skill..
Get a Sci ship..
Get a Tachyon Deflector..
Get 2 or more +sensor Sci Consoles
Run with 50-100 AUX..
Add in MES to hide yourself...

You will see that finding cloaked Klingons becomes much easier (compared to almost never). In addition, they don't get away by cloaking at short range nearly as much (they cloak.. but you can still see and shoot them). Even more fun is spotting and shooting them as they try to slink by invisible.

Finally.. If you have Sensor Scan, use it on a target and it will pop any cloaked ship out into the open.. It is great to use it on the first Klingon who decloaks as it will pop out any of his friends near by whether they wanted to commit at that point or not (in addition to bosting your perception and debuffing the target).

I use the fastest engines + emergency power to engines on my escort...if any klingons is running, i will be faster than him, pounding him with torps and spraying with cannons...too bad i cant have another sci officer, would take that ability wich prevents cloakin also :-)

That is quite hard to do in T2, besides I'm a tank/buff so sensors aren't my thing. I tried out a science vessel and found them to be paper in head start for some odd reason.

What I listed above was what I had in T2 for PvP.

Since sensors aren't your thing you should not expect to catch cloaked ships as that is one of the science captain's things.. But if you change your mind you will find what I listed will help you a lot.

You can boost your engines enough to run in a straight line during tractor, you just cant turn... half the time you get stuck on a rock trying to EM away under tractor.

And that's why I don't like playing with pugs.

I still like to win. I don't care if losers still get points, I'd rather win. People who run in and die repeatedly annoy the hell out of me.


There should be some rule like the person who died the most in any PvP battle cannot queue themselves for 10 minutes, while they reflect on the error of their ways. Other people can queue them as a team but they can't queue themselves.
