A bug that involved Romulan Liberated Borg captains and their skills once they chose an ally
My fed char is lvl 12 I have chosen the career path of science and intend to spec into team play however I have not yet seen any team functions of my science ship at all.
I expected the science class to be somewhat of the healer class as alot of its skills involve healing/buffing in the T2 slots of skills and well blue suites have always been doctors/healers in star trek.
I am wanting to be able to transport my shield power or aux energy to an ally ship, Is this a skill my character gains in skilling up or is it a specific BO skill I need to train?
My engineer BO has a boost shield power skill, that is the only "heal" or buff I have come across so far and its not even close to an actuall "heal" that im looking for.
I have a kit on ground science that allows me to AoE heal my entire away team and its really nice, but I am looking for how Im suppose to do this in ship combat, can anyone tell me what I need to do or skills I need to unlock this??
Thank you the replys, I do have another question then..
If the healing is done by engineering BO's wouldnt healing be better fit for the cruiser class ships? Since science ships have more slots of science BOs...cruisers would have more slots for engineering BO's right?
Unless the skills a science character gets makes the 1 engineering BO's skill outweight the cruiser ships having 2-3 healing BO's?
Or am I looking at it the wrong way?
Edit* also I know I am only into the first science ship.. there are many other ships to gain (i hope) in which one of the later science ships could have more then 1 engineering BO slot on ship.
Transfer Shield Strength is a shield heal for science Bridge Officers, starts at ensign.
Science Team is a shield heal for Science Bridge Officers, also starts at ensign.
Hazard Emitters is a hull heal for Science Bridge Officers, I think it can be used on allied ships, and is available at ensign. It is primarily a system to remove certain debuffs like radiation and fire from the target ship, but also has a small hull repair.
Engineering Team is a hull repair for Engineering Bridge Officers and starts at ensign.
Extend Shields is a shield heal for Engineering Bridge Officers and starts at lieutenant I think.
I think there are a few others, but these are those that I know of.
If you are looking for a 'healing' ship, you could go either Cruiser or Science Vessel and not make the wrong choice.

Ahh thanks I will have to check for some of these science BO who can teach mine to do these skills. Currently all my science BO's do is drain shields and jam sensors : /
I think my cruiser might be more of a "healer" then a science vessel. Currently I can restore hull and shields with my two engineering boffs who have extend shields I and engineering team I.

When I read up on the classes I thought they would work like this..
Enginnering = Cruiser - Have biggest ships, most HP = Tank class
Tactical = Escort - Has most buffs to weapons dps = DPS class
Science = Science - Provides team with buffs, enemy with debuffs and has healing abilties = Healing class
Obviously I could be very wrong, and I do note that each class can heal itself for solo play... but I am looking at long run end game sorta feel.. like things that you NEED a ship that is fully dedicated to providing you with heals in order to be successful.
Cruisers and Science ships, having access to a good mix of science and engineering boffs, should both do a decent job as 'healers'.
I've never quite understood the notion that a science vessel would be better suited to 'healing' though. When a system is malfunctioning or the ship is damaged in some way, engineers would seem better for the job. Scientists aren't completely out of place being technical problem solvers and the like, but engineers seem like the go-to officers for normal maintenance and repair tasks.
Just referring to ships here - as ground-based healers it makes perfect sense (with doctors being science officers and all).
