# 1 Effiicient Trait on BOs
02-01-2010, 12:21 PM
So now I have two bridge officers manning consoles that both have the Efficient trait (Saurian Engineer and Science officers).

Also being that I'm a Liberated Borg, I have the same trait.

Now, I wonder, do these stack? What do they even do? They don't add to the Efficiency ship skills (unless you need points in the skill to get the bonus).

Anyone notice what it really does?

I couldn't tell that any BO space traits matter in space, I spent a lot of time trying to see if it did with various BOs, but couldn't see them having any impact.

I'm still not sure my efficient trait works period. I have the trait on my character's race (actual character, not BO) and I do not see any additional energy over what my bar is set at. I mouse over the setting and it is 100/100, 53/50, 32/25 and 32/25 iirc. Those are off the top of my head, but very close. I have Warp Theorist and maxed Warp Training.

Shouldn't I see 105/100, 58/50, 37/25 and 37/25? Essentially adding 5 more energy to each category?

I suspect Efficient does nothing until you get a point in the Efficiency skills, just like Warp Theorist doing nothing until you get a point in Warp Core Training.

Ahh, thank you good sir. It's difficult to unravel what ties to what. I will drop a point in when I get home and post here again to confirm one way or another.

I didnt think the efficiency trait would work that way. It doesnt just add 5 points into every power level, does it? to me, that would make it a bit over powered, especially since if you look at your stats efficiency DOES stack.

The captain's traits affect all ship functions and abilities tied to that trait.

Bridge Officer traits are misleading in the sense that you assume they will work the same way captain traits do, but they don't. For example some BO's have a trait that "Improves kit damage or healing by 5%". BO's can't use kits, so it's misleading, what it actually does is improve their ability damage and healing by 5%.

I imagine efficient trait on BOs works the same way. It provides no innate bonus to the entire ship, but if they have a specific skill that draws on those 3 stats that the efficient trait grants bonuses to, then it'll be slightly better.

In open beta I was getting +5 to all ship powers from Efficient trait. So they either changed how it works, or broke it all together.

If that's how it works, that's a pretty massive bonus. Also if it works the same for BOs (except just for their skills) I'm going to have a full crew of Saurians with Efficiency. The other races don't have any space traits that I've seen and the ground ones are sub-par as far as I'm concerned in comparison.

Saurians also get a massive bonus to melee damage so I might have one replace my Klingon Tactical officer (his tribble doesn't like him anyway...)

Efficiency is only on powers leveled 25-60 and performance applies to 60-100+.
