With this chart, I found it to be simplier than I had thought! I was able to make my first double-buff Tribble thanks to it. :p

Do the number of dots (pips?) on that chart represent the strength of the specific trait? e.g. a Nelson provides a more potent damage buff than a Velasquez, which in turn provides a more potent damage buff than a Mattson?

I find it ironic that you've done this with your Icon.

I re-watched Star Trek XI last night, and noticed for the first time, behind Scotty in the Delta Vega outpost, he's got a pet Tribble in a cage...

Yes and no.

Let me explain.... The dots are mainly to quickly visualise the rank of the tribble. Everything comes from a Tuffli which is why it's at the bottom with one dot. So you go up in rank to get rarer tribbles.
From Ricossa and Mattson up, each tribble does has a stronger effect although I have never proven this and it's my opinion. (It makes sense though)
