This may have already been mentioned but I feel it's very important for all to read and understand. If anyone contacts you in game or by email asking if you want to buy STO energy, and they provide a link, please don't click. RMT types are mostly hackers and clicking their link will set you up for disaster.
I'm getting my fair share of emails for sto gold and I'm putting the userbnames on the ignore list but of course they come back with new usernames etc etc so I'm wondering if there's a better way to filter this out or is it just one of those administrative tasks one has to endure to play this game?
I just wanted to add a quick note that very soon we will be adding the ability to report players for spamming/gold farming directly from the forums and web site. We are testing this functionality now and will be adding it very soon.
We are also working on more things to implement that will be seamless to the players but willl help the GMs out tremendously.
I will be adding updates as I get them. By working together we can help fight this and make your playing experience better.

you could write some code to see who was sending more than 10 PMs per day, this should be a handful of people and most will be Ferengi
Yep, I notice my mail box is slowly filling up. I know I'm not really THAT popular so there can be only one reason. And when I open the mail, my fears are correct. Energy farmers / Gold sellers / Ferengi traders / call em what you will..
They've also begun spamming chat now. Along with the morons who ask "where's sulu?" just to be funny, is just giving me another reason to switch to a different chat tab. Seriously, how can anyone find asking that question funny? Its like laughing at the speaking clock because it always tells you the time.
Anyhow, I digress....
Cryptic, time to clamp down on these mothers. You guys have enough on your plates, fighting off the bugs and rampant haters, without these cretins adding to such issues.
Okay, Is this not the funniest thing youve read today? Its sort of funny they chose Ferengis to do this sort of thing. I can just imagine a Ferengi in a Federation Cruiser pulling up and hailing me, telling me, "10000 Energy Credit, Available NOW, Guaranteed 10 min Delivery time! WWW.FerengiGOLDWOW.com!!!!!!!!!!" But we all know you cant trust a Ferengi...and Im so scared that I may have quoted a real site or just gave the idea for it.
I have to take the opposite stance on this, I've bought wow gold several times and found it to be useful, I just hate all the spam that goes around and wish they would set up key word filters in the chat. It wouldn't be too hard for Cryptic to put gold spammers out of business though. It takes a lot of time (read wages of people doing missions) to get 100k energy credits which are selling upwards of $20. A solution would be for Cryptic to directly sell energy credits in their C-Store for say $15 or $20 (basically underprice the gold spammers) for people who want to accelerate their aquisition of fancy toys to kit out their ships.
Other than that suggestion, would someone please tell me how they're getting energy credits so fast? I've played about 20 hours and only have 18k credits.
