Devs should find a way to reward when you help others by healing, buffing, debuffing, etc...not only doing dmg.

Some special kind of experience due to this kind of stuff allowing you to requisition or loot some kind of stuff.


But right now, Science Vessels are fun to play BUT can't loot anything. I had more loots with my n00b ship, how can this be possible ?

Elwood, Defend missions in sector blocks tend to have 4 or 5 players... let everyone else go together to blast things, while you go the other way... fly high, or fly low... but go in the opposite direction... I've had fights that lead into other fights before the first was over... 5 minute non stop brawls... and no one jumped me. you'll be suprised how much DPS you can put out if you go and get two turrets for yoru rear and atleast one GOOD toprpedo for the front... and use high yield torp as often as possible.

give it a shot, you should be impressed (mind you I only use one torp at front with a beam bank aswell)

Anomalies scanned and retained should be worth something. The Federation is primarily scientific in nature - its about research. Transporting colonists, dropping off supplies - all these should earn you energy credits. It seems particularly off that it doesn't.

bump from me just like the cruiser thread on this same problem got.

I've noticed an explosion of escorts since people realized escorts are the ones who get the loot.

I play a cruiser currently and I don't get crap for loot even when I pull off insanely hard tanking that saves the entire team so those escorts can do the job. And when things go bad it's that attentive science ship pilot who pulls us all out from the mess we got ourselves in.....yet they get no love for this.

We know there are ways to outdmg some guys with their Escrot if they just hit as usual.

Now, those exact same ways are way more efficient with Escort.


The point is : Science Vessels aren't meant to deal dmg, they are meant to enhance team, heal team while debuffing opponent...this kind of duty that is invaluable agaisnt huge opponent but that won't send you the tiniest loot.

Here is a problem and Cruptic have to do something or why bother playing a Science Vessel at all ? Thanks to my work, some Escort Guy can sell 300 000 the loot he got and not me ? Cool, I may have use it...

...cannons (half or more of the gear drops I see are cannons, usable by 1/3 of the ship types.

...using DPS meters only to allocate loot.

I'd like to see the drop tables adjusted so that cannons are ~1/6 of the drops, since all of the other drops are usable by anyone.

Use of BOff powers, including the support ones, use of captain abilities and damage taken should all count towards loot allocation in instances where there is a meter.

It doesn't work, in practice. Not only do the other people in your "team" think you're running away to let them do all the work, you end up invariably running into another pod of enemies with no way to run away from them. Then all you can do is run toward the other players hitting the "transfer energy to rear shields" button endlessly and hoping that you make it before you blow up so that one of your team mates can distract your attackers for you to get away and heal.

Not EVERY ship needs to be a fighter...people underestimate the value in being able to run away.

Really? I hope I didn't do something incredibly stupid, but you make me think I did. When I went to talk to that person at ship requisitions, she only had 20k ships.

History should have teach them not to do so, in every game from every editor, when a class is more played than others because it has a huge advantage, you can be sure either the nerf bat or the buff one will strike.

Prepare for the Escort Nerf Bat or Not Escort Buff one...
