There really should be a way to reset skill points its a bit rediculas, people do make mistakes... me being one, i do understand the idea of it, but at the same time you should be able to use some credits or something... anyway thats my thoughts

They've stated that there will be some form of respec... you should have the option of buying it in the C-Store, or be able to use one of the in-game currencies.

We need a better option to respec ingame, now.

What if you are a tactical officer and wants to run a escort ship with dual heavy cannons for some pvp pewpew, you ofcourse spend all your points on cannon skills.

On the other hand, you run a cruiser for pve, and you now have to use beam weapons, since you can't outfit a cruiser with cannons, so now you are totatally gimped.

I for one, thought that since escorts are fast, i could just stick with my beam weapons and outmanouver the klinks in pvp, but to my surprise, that tactic was weak as hell. So i switched to heavy dual cannons and actually did some damage for once, but now i've wasted 1800 points in beam weapons that I don't really need, and would probably be much better used elsewhere.

We really need a respec option, since cryptic won't allow us to cap all skills eventually

Chill, amigo. We're going to get one. Just probably not 'til we start seeing some Admirals, is all.

You could also plan out what you want to do with your toon, that are apps for predetermining your path to Admiral.

So you essentially want two different 'classes' on the same character. Um... I don't think any game has done that ever? I don't play WoW but I'm taking a wild guess you can't be one of those backstabby Rogues and also a healing tank paladin dude at the same time. It seems absurd to expect it here.

Yeah that is not gonna happen 2 different classes on one toon? That of course might be dreamy but the first MMO to do it wont last long. Everyone and their mother would be way OP and then your asking not to swing a nerf bat too LOL
