# 1 CONSTRUCTIVE KDF Suggestion(s)
01-07-2014, 12:33 PM
I was rocking out my Kling as per usual - having fun with my fleet bro's yesterday and one of them asked me: "Why are you always hanging out at DS9?"

It didn't occur to me until I really thought about it but the answer was quite simple - DS9 is more convenient to navigate than Qo'nos.

Lets say you're surfing the Exchange for that 'special' part for a ship you're not in (I toggle rides a lot). If you're on Qo'nos, you have to find the Exchange, get the item, run to the Transporter, wait for the Shipyard to load, run to the Select Ship dude, place your part and select your ship to try it out.

But wait! Inventory slots are precious and now you have an extra ship component you want to store in your bank!

So you run to the transporter, beam/load to First City, run back to the Exchange, push through to get to a bank terminal, make your deposit and then FINALLY you can beam back to your ship and get set up to play.

In comparison, the FED Starbase and ROM Flaotilla is laid out a lot more conveniently, which may be a SMALL part of why some newbies shy from the faction. If I was able to clean things up a bit, I'd recommend the Acadamy area be scrapped altogether with all of what it offers transfered to First City instead (it has A LOT of unused space).

Additionally, I would replace the Shipyard with a maxed out version of a KDF Fleet Starbase (MINUS all of the fleet ammenities of course - just the template and the same stuff that you would find in the FED Starbase, banks, General's office, etc).

Am I asking for the moon or do you guys think this is reasonable/doable?

I'd like to see patrol missions for the klingons. What stops me from leveling one up (despite wanting one of their raptors) is the dreadful leveling process.

It's been a while since I made my last new KDF char but I thought with the recent additional missions leveling up has become pretty quick and comfy.
For what it's worth there's alsways the Mirror Event to speed things up a bit.

I agree. I just thought the Home-Base layout could be cleaned up a bit rather simply. I realise there are other things to fucus on too, and please - feel welcome to bring them up. Kind of looking for do-able solutions to those issues too, just to keep it constructive.

I guess I forgot to mention I like setting up my Marauding Doffs in that sector. I'm always getting TONS of contraband and prisoners that I can cash in for dilithium. If I need to go anywhere else - it's a quick transwarp away. Also close to the Dilithium Mine Holdings.

Hi mates,

the following proposal is based on content of the marauding-DOFF-tasks, on the fact that oroins and nausicaans are part of the empire now and the more or less total boring situation in the sector space, especially in the klingon/federation borderland, where a war is going on, at least thats what I heard somewhere^^... It may also offer much content for a hole new season:

First - the marauding tasks indicate somekinde of piracy fashion, coming in touch with raider actions, dealing with orions, ferengi and other gangsters including further stuff wich gives a slight impression, that one could act like a valiant with an own agenda (or lets say policy of my house, pretty cool at some point) but it should offer the option to actively play some of the missions!

Second - having the option to chose orions and nausicaans as captains (including specific ships) should offer somekinde of corsair element (but also available for the klingon captains who want to disturb fed-trade routes), thats enables you with randomly spawned frighters in sector space (cloaking in sector space would make sence her) or a mission contact for this, to make some loot (provions; devices or dili) and sell it at orion or ferengi trade posts

Third - this leads us to new places, that should be established, such as minor orion/ferengi ouposts (warlord-hideouts or cousin gelars moon for weapon trade^^) the ferengi homeworld and somekinde of an orion base or homeworld; stations/moon/astroids for nausicaan raider squads and general places to carry out an illicit trade-system with booty and contraband

Fourth - this offers a lot of ways to implement new lobi-stuff/boxes, dili-farming opportunities or Zens-content to be sold, it may even be possible to establish something simular on fed-side, like a rengade-carrier or a comeback for the maquis, this makes it much easier for human chars to operate non starfleet ships (big maquis raider as zen or lobi ship)

Conclusion - establishing a system of illicit-trade; randome missions to loot or destroy frighters or raids on enemy colonies (trade war against the enemy), implementing missions from/for orion/nausicaan piracy or using the marauding-tasks as foundament for random plunder missions, would definately increase the longterm motivation for the games itsself and fill the time gaps between storyline content, offer a level-system beside the episodes and would generate more fun^^

think of it mates...

happy new year^^

That could be really good!

I wonder if that would work better as an all-out Ferengi Faction though, somewhere down the road.

The old First City map was a lot easier to navigate, but a lot of people complained about it and we got the current map that we have. Personally, I would like to have the option to use the old map again, but with some of the newer features added.
