Yeah, if you go to Earth Spacedock... you know the room that has the bank for item storage? That room also has mail terminals. If you use those, you can attach items to mail messages.

If you send the mail to @mjcrawford ...ie. your account name, not a particular character, then all your characters can pick the items up.

You can send and receive mail anywhere, but you need to use a terminal to send and receive items.

Use the mail terminal that's next to the bank at stardock.

ok, can you tell me where this mail terminal is? or are you just messing with me?

I haven't gotten that far. back in my SWG days you would have to purchase a separate account to trade between characters. Don't know how that's going to work in STO as storage is pretty limited.

Spacedock is a circle. I forget exactly where the bank is, but it's just one of the rooms on the ring. The bank room is next to the Exchange. The long consoles are bank access, the square ones are mail terminal access.

If that doesn't help you find it, I dunno what to tell ya.

You can send mail between your characters, and you can attach items to your mail. Up to five items can be attached to one mail message.

You can't send bound items through the mail, of course, but anything else is fair game.

I don't know if you can send/receive items this way, but you can read your mail from anyplace in game.

On the lower right of the minimap is an arrow. Click that arrow and you get several more options. One of which is mail.
