Nice idea with the probes..would make for good missions. Is one of many options we should consider using if we want to make STO more than just "F" + kill.

Thanks. That's ultimately the hope. It'd be nice to mix things up a bit (just as long as it doesn't get overused).

You could also extend 'standard' scanning range based on the level of the science or tactical officer.

I commend the OP on this Thread. This idea was very well thought out and (I not being creative) appriciated the edit clarification about the main idea. And I fully agree and am posting to hopfully keep this thread on the top page so that the developers see it and maybe add this in an ucoming patch. Since I decked out my crew with all Ladies I would not mind in the least if I got cues from multiple bridge officers about probing nebulas....sorry couldn't resist.

Awesome post and great ideas!!!!
