Now im out of my tier 1 ship and into my tier 2 Excalibur class cruiser the game has suddenly become alot more fun!

Ive definatly fallen in love with my cruiser. Broadsiding in it with mark 3 phasers is amazing. Im destroying BoPs without using torpedos :p

Tier 3 here i come. Cant wait to get my hands on a four nacelled beauty!

Cruiser pride.

And yes, the game seems more alive, active, more to do, just.. MORE once out of the starter ship.

If you take a good look at all the negative reviews, 90% of them never got out of the starter ship!

I totally agree. Once I got out of my little miranda and into my Nova, the game really opened up a lot more! Missions were more tactical dependent for my science vessel, level 6 current,y can't wait to get to my Tier 3 ship, hopefully by the weekend! But aye, good job Cryptic!

T3 Cruisers are amazing pieces of work if you can deal with the energy management running 4 beams.

If you set up the right consoles and play it correctly, they're great, not T3 Escort DPS but definitely not lacking punch at all.

They build out very nicely and are very versatile depending on your captain profession and the way you set up your BO's.

So it does get more fun? My issue is that I was getting bored because I kept doing the same type of missions over and over. It was getting kind of boring.

As far as doing missions and junk, do things get any better once you get to level 10+

Yeah. I have to agree. I just got finished doing the City on the Edge of Never, and I had to stop after that bout of epicness.

If I had to complain about anything specific to Tier 1, I would say that it got me into a pattern of laziness. I know they want to gradually bring players into the game, but I think T1 should be ramped up just a tad, because the difference is pretty big.

One of the biggest problems with this game is the poor impression it makes with that craptastic miranda. Fortunately that doesn't last long, but you have to wonder - why only one ship? The 'ships' in this game are really tiny amounts of content. They could have had many ships to choose from.

I think sometimes game designers shoot themselves in the ass for no reason. Who vetoes these kinds of things?

So far, the STORY is getting better for sure, and the battles get more difficult, but it's still the same button mashing when it comes down to it. You'll have more powerful weapons and new abilities as you progress, though, so things do get spiced up.

the story missions really hot up at Lt Cmdr.

the majority of the Lt ones are the set up for the Lt Cmdr ones, the actual story behind it all starts to peek its head out and you get a glimpse of it a little more.

tier 2 ships help a lot too, more powers, more toys, more options, the game suddenly feels like your in control of how things are going rather than just slugging it out waiting for the chance to get MkII items..

i really wish they'd improve the first ten levels XD
