Most missions we don't get on the ground, and some missions are smart enough to say there is a field blocking transporters or whatever. But, many missions are such that we should be able to just transport to where we're going. Actually, we do have these missions still, but instead of being on the ground where they would be ridiculous, they're in space, where we should have engines that makes them a breeze but which are horribly gimped. But, that's not the worst part.

The stuff that happened in the previous future that Spock came from happened in this game's past. Where is Scotty's transwarp beaming? Spock said Scotty invented transwarp beaming, either way, Spock had to have acquired the knowledge before leaving to the past, meaning STO should have transwarp beaming. Why do I have to approach planets to 10 km to beam? Why do I even have to enter systems to beam to places?
